Unveiling the AI Narrative: Insights on Leveraging Technology as a Creative Leader for Decision-making Support

Are you still on the fence about leveraging emerging technologies to elevate your creative and business endeavors? You're not alone! Join us as we stroll along the boardwalk of vibrant San Diego, California, engaging in real conversations with Creative Leaders like yourself, delving into their likes, dislikes, and reservations when it comes to embracing cutting-edge tech.

Meet Wasani, founder of WE ARE WHOA, a brilliant painter, songwriter, and musician. We got a chance to chat with this individual who embodies the spirit of innovation and dares to push the boundaries of creativity. Here’s a snippet from our conversation we had while he was vending his custom-made hats on the boardwalk.

doc Peace: What are your thoughts on AI?

Wasani: Man, I don't even know if I've had the time to process my own thoughts on it. Because of how quickly it advances.

doc Peace: What are some of the biggest advantages that you can think of right now as to why you'd want to leverage AI as a creator?

Wasani: As a creator, I feel like we thrive off of bouncing ideas off of things. And so AI just is almost like that 2nd, third, and 25th brain for you. So that's helpful in a way that you can just get different perspectives of still what you're trying to portray. Disadvantages - Just creating any type of ease or less thought for people just creates less need for learning and growth, just as a human. Because obviously the more you rely on anything, whether it's your mom or your phone, you lose some sort of control and you're like leaning on it to a point where, again, it's not that you're 100% going to be leaning on it, but the more and more you are leaning on it, It'll get harder.

doc Peace: So with all that in mind, do you personally use AI tools like ChatGPT?

Wasani: Yeah, so I use it for marketing because I don't have a marketing team. But any big marketing firm has ten or 15 or 20 people, so that's like, what it's going to be used for. But that's mainly it. I've seen people use it for conversations with their friends and I'm just like, that's a little rough.

doc Peace: So when you use it for marketing, what questions do you ask it? Have you found certain prompts that really allow you to create the best content?

Wasani: No, it's really just very direct. Like, write me an Instagram caption, or give me five reasons why this is better than that or whatever. Just things that you could easily research yourself right away, but it's going to take instead of 20 minutes, going to take 30 seconds. So then as a business, productivity-wise, that's great. But then again, for the whole mental part of it and stimulation, it cuts so much out if it's this accessible for people, it's obviously going to be misused somehow, some way. We'll see how bad it gets, I guess.

doc Peace: With any good thing, someone's going to come in and ruin it for everyone in a sense. But while we have access to it in the way that we do, why not leverage it?

Wasani: 100% you should be using it because it can help. But again, to fully, fully rely on it, that's to each his own.

.:. Ultimately, Wasani's perspective on emerging technologies reflects a delicate balance between embracing innovation and maintaining a sense of control and human engagement in the creative process. What’s your take?
